Naturopathic Doctor

Claire Zimmerman, ND, is a naturopathic physician and herbalist practicing at Full Circle Natural Medicine. Dr. Zimmerman specializes in chronic illness, environmental medicine, and mind-body medicine. Dr. Zimmerman has extensive training in ecology, botany, and permaculture design, which help to influence her clinical framework within natural medicine.

Dr. Zimmerman holds an ND degree from Bastyr University, Certificate in Clinical Herbalism from the North American Institute for Clinical Herbalism, and completed post-graduate clinical training from Environmental Medicine Education International. She is published with Wild Brilliance Press, Alternative & Complementary Medicine Journal, and was involved with the Foundations of Naturopathic Medicine Project. Dr. Zimmerman’s clinical specialties include environmental medicine, mind-body medicine, digestive health, autoimmune disorders, and craniosacral therapy. Her clinical thinking is informed by naturopathic philosophy as well as a systems-based approach stemming from permaculture.

 

Dr. Zimmerman received her bachelor’s degree in 2001 from Colorado College in biology and anthropology. She worked as a field botanist, leading into the study of permaculture and sustainable livelihood. She studied clinical herbalism at the North American Institute for Medical Herbalism (NAIMH) in 2008 and became faculty teaching field botany. She opened two businesses in Boulder, CO, Pixie Plots Gardening Company & Actaea Botanicals, where she specialized in designing, installing and maintaining edible, medicinal, and xeriscape gardens and taught classes throughout the intermountain west on topics related to herbalism, permaculture, and connection to nature. Dr. Zimmerman received her Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University in 2016. She also attended the New England School of Homeopathy (NESH) during her medical training and trained in visceral manipulation from Baral Institute (EMEI). Dr. Zimmerman completed post-graduate clinical training from Environmental Medicine Education International. Dr. Zimmerman has been adjunct faculty at Bastyr since 2016.
